1. Rabies - Rabies is a severe and highly infectious viral infection affecting the brain and central nervous system of animals and people. It is transmitted through contact with blood or saliva from a disease carrier (foxes, raccoons, skunks, bats, etc.). 2. FVRCP - Also known as the "Feline Distemper" vaccine: This is a combination vaccine that protects against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia 3. Feline Leukemia - A common viral infection of cats, spread through close, social contact. Routine testing, as well as vaccination of cats determined to be at risk, are key factors in feline leukemia virus prevention. 4. FeLV/FIV Test - This tests for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. These viruses can be spread through saliva from an infected cat or passed down from mother to kitten during fetal development. |
Current Harbor Animal Hospital patients must have an exam by one of our doctors within the last year. Non-Harbor patients must also have an examination by one of our doctors one week prior to staying with us. This is to ensure a doctor has seen your pet in case anything about their health changes during their stay.
